Great! Lenovo is introducing the Phab2 Pro, the world’s first phone equipped with Google’s GOOGL +0.24% depth-sensing technology called Project Tango. The 6.4-inch phone comes with a number of cameras & sensors that can map out an environment in 3D. “The phone will capture more than 250,000 measurements a second,” Google & Lenovo said.
The Phab2 Pro has a metal aluminum body & Qualcomm QCOM +0.30%’s Snapdragon 652 ‘system on a chip’. It has 4 gigabytes of memory & a display with 2,560 x 1,440 resolution. Apart from that the phone has two 16-megapixel cameras on the back as well as depth sensors & motion tracking.
It will be available in September for $500, both online & to other retailers. I’m not sure the Lenovo Phab2 Pro will be the perfect phone, but it’s the first one that piqued my senses.
