Amazon India Fashion Week in association with Nexa Spring Summer 2018 began on 11 Oct at New Delhi. More than 50 designers are presenting their creations at this event.
Here are some of the collections to look out for this year:
Nida Mahmood for Deivee by Milind Soman
A sustainable Athleisure collection, inspired by the rich culture, colours and textiles of the four region of India. East: IKAT (from Orissa), West: Indigo printing/dyeing (from Gujrat/Rajasthan), North: Banarsi (inspired by Mughal pattern), South: Uppada & Narayanpet Saries (inspired by the stripes print).
JJ Valaya
The collection focuses on the three pillars of his label— Jamavar or Indian paisleys, Gulistan (inspired by the nature around us) and Punjab which takes heavily from how the Maharajas of Kapurthala dressed in court.
Vineet Bahl
Inspired by a place called Meitei in Imphal, the outfits showed us glimpses of art by locals from there with the balance of floral prints and geometric patterns including stylish accessories.
David Abraham and Rakesh Thakore
The collection showcases an urbanised take on Indian dressing with heavy block prints.
